Adopt a Canoe
Adopting a canoe is a unique opportunity to form a personal connection with the artifact that most resonates with you. You can symbolically adopt a canoe from the world’s largest collection of canoes, kayaks, and paddled watercraft. It’s easy, affordable, meaningful, and makes a great gift!
About the Program
As a canoe adopter your name will be added to the canoe label of your choice in the Museum's galleries and online showcasing you as the adopter of that canoe.
Prefer to remain anonymous? You can do that. Your canoe will be listed as adopted by anonymous or another name or nickname of your choosing.
Can you take your adopted canoe home or on the water? Wouldn’t that be nice, but alas, no. Adopting a canoe does not transfer ownership of the canoe to the adopter.
Each adoption lasts a minimum of one year. Want your adoption to last longer than one year? It can! Two months prior to your adoption expiring, you will receive a letter from the Museum asking if wish to renew again. You can also adopt your canoe for one, two, three, four, or even five years. What a great way to show your support for the Museum!
If you would like to adopt a canoe, or for more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 705.748.9153 x211.
For just $15 a month, you can adopt a canoe of your choice for one, two, three, four, or even five years. You can also pay for the full adoption all at once if that suits you better.
Your yearly adoption is tax receiptable. Note: Depending on when you started your adoption, your tax receipt may be divided between two tax years.
Surprise and delight your friends or family with a truly unique gift. Perfect for all those special occasions throughout the year - Christmas, retirement, Father’s Day, memorial, birthday, etc. A chance to be truly creative in your gift giving!
Simply designate your canoe as a gift when completing the adoption form. You’ll be walked through the steps to select your preferred naming.
