The Canadian Canoe Museum - Programs For Educators & Students

Education Programs at the Canadian Canoe Museum

We have three Canoe Schools with dynamic, fun programs for Grades JK through to Grade 12.  Canoe Primary School programs are designed for Grades JK through 3, Canoe Middle School programs are for Grades 4 to 8 and the Canoe High School programs are dedicated to Grades 9 through 12.  These 90-minute* interdisciplinary programs provide students with an experiential orientation and introduction to the canoe and its relationship with Canadian culture.  Just ask us how our programs can be customized to meet a specific goal or objective unique to your class or group. (All programs are 90 minutes long unless otherwise indicated)

About our Programs

Canada and the canoe: a story full of drama, excitement, perseverance, courage, ingenuity and partnership.  Our goal is to inform young Canadians about their history and the land upon which they live.  Our programs are built to be dynamic, inclusive, small group focused, student-centric and most importantly of all, rooted firmly in the experiential education pedagogical framework.  When these components converge, they grow into  90 minute, museum-based programs that typically employ aspects of song, story, role-play, adventure, carving, making, baking and imagining.
